Parliamentary demands to expedite the approval of a new salary scale

On Thursday, the Parliamentary Economy, Industry, and Trade Committee called on the government to expedite the procedures for approving the new salary scale.

During an interview, Yasser Al-Husseini, the deputy head of the committee, stated that the House of Representatives has communicated with the government regarding the new salary scale numerous times. He also mentioned that a committee had been assigned to study the scale to ensure fairness for employees with limited income and low salaries.

Al-Husseini emphasized the need for the government to expedite the legislative process of a decision passed by the House of Representatives that contains a financial aspect aimed at easing the burden on low-income individuals.

“He said that the House of Representatives cannot propose any decision, law, or draft law to the government that involves financial matters. He suggested that the government should be urged to expedite the process and conclude the work of the committee responsible for amending the salary scale. Once this is complete, the necessary procedures for implementing the decision can be carried out.”
