On Saturday, the Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee stated that it does not intend to question the Minister of Electricity in front of Parliament. This indicates that the committee regularly monitors the ministry’s progress and regularly hosts the minister and senior ministry staff.
“The interest is translated by the committee through hosting the Minister of Electricity and the advanced technical and administrative staff in the ministry on a regular and weekly basis to review the ministry’s field work and improve the hours of supply,” said committee member MP Suhaila Al-Sultani. “The committee is exceptionally and diligently interested in following up on the work of the Ministry of Electricity, especially in the summer.”
She went on to say that the “rumors about the intention to question him are incorrect” and that “the committee has no intention at the present time to question the Minister of Electricity.”
“Setting up a power plant in Karbala Governorate will be a positive factor towards solving the electricity crisis,” she promised.
