Parliamentary Legal: Concerns over Personal Status Law are Misunderstood

The Parliamentary Legitimate Advisory group affirmed that worries about the Individual Status Regulation are misconstrued, noticing that all protests and remarks about the law will be thought about.

Advisory group part Raed Al-Maliki let the authority organization know that “there is no burden of will in passing the law, and the present meeting for the subsequent perusing finished in view of the proposition that will be considered and concentrated on in forming the draft regulation.”

He called attention to that “the pith of the law is to give Iraqis the opportunity to pick their own status as per the constitution, which promises it in Article 41.”

Last Monday, the Place of Delegates closed its conversation of the proposition to alter the Individual Status Regulation.

The following statement was obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) from the House of Representatives’ media department: ” The Place of Agents has finished the report and conversation of the proposed regulation changing the Individual Status Regulation No. ( 188) of 1959, Articles 2 and 10.”
