Parliamentary move to halt loan deductions during Ramadan

Yasser Watout announced a new move in Parliament to help people during the holy month of Ramadan.

Watout said he gathered signatures from several MPs and sent an official request to the Prime Minister. The request asks the government to stop loan deductions from the salaries of employees, retirees, and all members of the security forces during Ramadan.

He explained that this step is meant to ease pressure on these groups, especially with the tough living conditions many families are facing. According to him, the request is now with the Prime Minister and is expected to be discussed in next week’s cabinet meeting to decide if it can be approved legally.

Watout pointed out that loan deductions take a big chunk out of many salaries. Stopping them, even for one month, would give people some breathing room and help them manage their expenses during Ramadan.
