Parliamentary Rights: The next phase will focus on passing laws related to citizens.

Member of the Parliamentary Rights Bloc, MP Miqdad al-Khafaji, said on Tuesday that the next legislative phase will adopt a different approach by prioritizing the passage of laws that directly address citizens’ needs and serve various segments of society.

Al-Khafaji told dinaropinions.com that the Rights Bloc will step up its efforts within the Council of Representatives and relevant parliamentary committees to push for the approval of key legislation related to citizens’ living and service conditions, particularly laws that were withdrawn by the government during the previous parliamentary term.

He explained that the caretaker government withdrew several important laws that benefit wide segments of society without providing clear legal or legislative justifications, which led to delays in their approval and deprived citizens of the opportunity to benefit from them.

Al-Khafaji added that the withdrawn legislation included amendments to the Salary Scale Law and the Popular Mobilization Forces Law, in addition to other laws that have a direct impact on economic and living conditions. He noted that the Rights Bloc, in coordination with allied blocs, has decided to work on returning these laws to the parliamentary agenda and demanding their approval during the current or, at the latest, the next legislative session.
