Nehru Rawandozi, Deputy Chairman of the Oil, Gas, and Natural Resources Committee, disclosed the most recent developments regarding the oil and gas law in accordance with the political agreement between Baghdad and Erbil today, Wednesday.
“The law was part of the political agreement paper on which the current government was formed, but the issue of its legislation still faces many differences,” Rawandozi stated.
That’s what he added “the boards of trustees shaped by the public authority have not finished their work in full, which blocks sending the draft of the oil and gas regulation to the Gathering of Delegates.”
He brought up that “there are political contrasts over the draft of the oil and gas regulation between the middle, the district and the oil-creating territories, noticing that there is an administration panel framed by the State leader comprising of delegates of the three principal parts in Iraq: Kurds, Sunnis, and Shiites.”
He brought up that “the panel entrusted with setting up the draft regulation has not finished its work in that frame of mind far, which blocks sending the draft regulation to the Board of Agents.”
