Work has officially started in Baghdad to prepare for the 17th Arab Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy, which Iraq will host in 2026.
The scientific preparation committee has begun holding meetings through joint coordination between the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission and the Arab Atomic Energy Agency. These meetings are focused on shaping the scientific direction of the conference and setting clear goals for its sessions.
The conference itself will center on how nuclear and radiation sciences can be used safely and peacefully. Topics will include research, healthcare, agriculture, industry, the environment, water resources, and energy—areas where these technologies can make a real difference in everyday life.
