On Monday, Kurdish President Nechirvan Barzani sat down with a delegation from the U.S. Business Council to talk about the growing trade relationship between the United States and the Kurdistan Region.
In a statement from the Kurdistan Region Presidency, officials said the meeting looked at where things currently stand in terms of commercial ties and explored new areas where both sides can expand economic cooperation.
President Barzani stressed that the Kurdistan Region is fully ready to support and welcome U.S. companies and investors. This comes exactly one year after Kurdish and American companies signed an agreement to improve coordination on trade and investment, during a visit from a large U.S. delegation of 30 companies.
