Solana Foundation has introduced a new security system to make projects on Solana safer and easier to trust.
The new framework is called STRIDE, and it was built with help from Asymmetric Research. Its main goal is to check how secure different DeFi projects are and keep track of risks over time.
In simple terms, STRIDE works like a detailed inspection. It looks at things like how a project is built, how it’s managed, how it handles data, and how ready it is to respond to attacks. Each project gets reviewed independently, and the results are made public so users can see which platforms are safer.
Alongside this, the foundation also launched the Solana Incident Response Network. This is a group of security teams that work together in real time. If something goes wrong, they can quickly share information and respond faster to stop or limit damage.
This move comes after several recent attacks in the DeFi space. One major case involved Drift Protocol, which lost around $280 million in an exploit.
Even though total losses in early 2026 are lower than last year, attacks are still happening regularly. Hackers are also getting more advanced, sometimes using automation and AI tools to carry out faster and more complex attacks.
So overall, this new system is about building trust. The idea is simple: give users clear information about risks, improve how projects handle security, and react faster when problems happen.
