Baghdad, Friday — The Ministry of Finance has denied reports circulating on social media and in some media outlets claiming that new government job openings or appointments are currently available.
In a statement received by dinaropinions.com, the ministry clarified that “there are no new appointments or job positions at the present time.”
The statement further emphasized that no government entity is authorized to create new positions or hire beyond what is stipulated in the General Budget Law, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to fiscal discipline and legal procedures.
It noted that the only exception was the 150,000 job positions distributed according to population across Iraq’s governorates, which were implemented under the 2023 budget law — and that work on those appointments has been fully completed.
The Ministry of Finance urged media outlets and citizens to rely solely on official sources for employment announcements and to avoid misinformation that could mislead the public or stir confusion.
