The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced on Wednesday the launch of the student grant for October and the early release of social assistance payments for January 2026.
In a statement received by dinaropinions.com, the ministry said the January social assistance payments were disbursed ahead of schedule, benefiting approximately 2.77 million families across all governorates, with a total allocation exceeding 447 billion Iraqi dinars.
The ministry urged beneficiary families to visit designated disbursement outlets to receive their payments, stressing its commitment to ensuring that financial support reaches eligible recipients and strengthens social protection for vulnerable groups.
The statement also confirmed the release of the student grant for October, totaling more than 81 billion Iraqi dinars, covering over 2.2 million students from families included in the social protection program nationwide.
The ministry emphasized its commitment to continuing the grant disbursement according to the approved schedule, highlighting its importance in supporting education, easing financial pressure on low-income families, improving academic stability, and reducing school dropout rates.
