The Popular Mobilization Forces Law tops the agenda for upcoming parliamentary sessions.

MP Hassan al-Kaabi announced on Sunday that the upcoming sessions of the Council of Representatives will focus on passing several important laws that will impact both citizens and state institutions. One of the key laws on the agenda is the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Law.

In a statement to dinaropinions.com, Al-Kaabi explained that the Council is committed to finalizing a number of stalled laws, including those carried over from previous sessions. The PMF Law is a top priority, aiming to ensure that members of this important security force receive the rights they deserve.

He also mentioned that there’s an ongoing push in parliament to strengthen its legislative and oversight roles, in line with the current political climate. Relevant committees are working hard to finalize the draft laws, which will soon be presented for a final vote.

The PMF Law is seen as a major political and public demand, designed to guarantee the rights of PMF fighters and to ensure they are treated equally with other security forces in terms of rights and privileges.
