Toyota leads Iraqi market sales in 2024’s first half

A worldwide car knowledge and counseling firm, Focus2Move, uncovered in a new report that Toyota drove the Iraqi market deals in the principal half of 2024.

According to the report, vehicle sales in Iraq increased by 26.4% between the same period in 2023 and the first half of 2024.

With 69,072 vehicles sold in the first half of 2024, June marked the eighteenth consecutive month of an increase in vehicle sales, with 11,022 new vehicles registered in June alone.

Toyota led the market with 19,629 new sales up until June 2024, closely followed by Kia with 17,986 new sales when brand-wise cumulative data is compared.

Hyundai, with 7,980 deals, was the third-blockbuster in the Iraqi market. MG came in fourth with 5,619 deals.

After a period of consistent growth, the Iraqi automotive market experienced a downturn between 2014 and 2016 due to the effects of the war against ISIS on the Iraqi economy.

With around 40,000 new enrolled vehicles, vehicle deals altogether expanded in 2016, however long haul development has been set up starting around 2017.

In 2022, vehicle deals expanded by 26.7 percent to 107,990, the best yearly volume in the past eight years.
