On Friday, Abdullah Ahmed Al-Jughaifi, the leader of the Unified Anbar Alliance, cautioned about the obstacles imposed by the US administration to hinder the central government’s endeavors to expose corruption cases and remove corrupt officials.
According to Al-Jughaifi’s statement, the US government is putting up barriers to hinder the progress of Muhammad Shia’a Al-Suadni’s administration. This is being done by imposing sanctions on 14 banks, claiming that they are cooperating with Iran. Iran is currently facing economic sanctions that involve hard currency, specifically the dollar.
He stated that America has implemented a policy of inciting street protests and carrying out demonstrations in order to create confusion in the political and security situation of a country for political gains. This has resulted in the overthrow of several previous governments.
According to the leader of the Anbar Alliance, the US administration was disturbed by Al-Sudani’s action of opening corruption files against senior officials in the current and former central government. As a result, they used this as a pressure tactic to protect their supporters and achieve their goals. The leader emphasized that the Sudanese government is elected by the people and should not be overthrown in such a manner.
Last week, the US Treasury announced the closure of 14 Iraqi banks, claiming they were dealing with Iran using US dollars. This is worth noting.
