A member of Parliament’s Legal Committee, Mohammed al-Khafaji, said the upcoming legislative session will focus on passing several important laws and completing bills that were left unfinished during the previous session.
Speaking on Saturday, al-Khafaji said Parliament will continue reviewing laws that have already completed their first reading, while also introducing and discussing new draft laws and proposals.
He explained that several bills carried over from the last session will return to Parliament’s agenda so lawmakers can complete the remaining legislative procedures and move them toward approval.
Among the key laws expected to receive attention are the Traffic Law, the License Issuance Law, and legislation aimed at replacing certain custodial sentences with alternative penalties.
Al-Khafaji said the next phase will also include the introduction of new draft laws, along with recommendations and decisions designed to improve public services, strengthen oversight, and support the interests of citizens.
According to him, Parliament is committed to passing laws that address the everyday needs of the public while helping improve the country’s legal, administrative, and service sectors.
The upcoming session is expected to be an important period for lawmakers as they work to complete pending legislation and advance new reforms aimed at improving governance and public services across the country.
