The Informatics and Telecommunications Public Company (ITPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s Huawei to establish data centers and strengthen international cooperation in the telecommunications and technology sector.
The agreement aims to support the development of modern digital infrastructure in Iraq, enhance data storage and processing capabilities, and provide high-quality technology services through international partnerships.
The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of the Iraq International Exhibition and Conference ITEX5-2026, which was held under the patronage of Minister of Communications Mustafa Jabbar Sanad.
Officials said the partnership is expected to contribute to the growth of Iraq’s digital transformation efforts by utilizing Huawei’s technical expertise and ITPC’s local infrastructure and operational capabilities.
The agreement also reflects ongoing efforts to expand Iraq’s technology sector, improve telecommunications services, and support future investments in data center projects and advanced digital solutions.
