Iraq climbs to fourth largest oil supplier to China in June

According to data from Chinese customs, Iraq’s oil exports to independent refineries in China increased significantly in June, elevating the nation to the position of fourth-largest supplier.

In June, Iraq shipped 1.342 million metric tons (or 9.796 million barrels) of crude oil to China. This is a significant increase from the 699 million metric tons (5.102 million barrels) it shipped in May and a 72.1% increase over the 780 million metric tons (5.694 million barrels) it shipped in June 2023.

Iraq’s position as the fourth-largest oil supplier to China’s independent refineries was secured by this strong performance last month, trailing only Saudi Arabia (3.071 million metric tons), Russia (2.369 million metric tons), and Malaysia (7.118 million metric tons).
