Monday, Iraqi MP Haider Al-Salami presented a plan to support the salary scale’s approval.
Al-Salami stated, “Calling on the government to be serious about continuing on this path in order to end the state of disparity between different groups,” adding, “Approving a unified salary scale is necessary to remove injustice and achieve equality.”
He offered what he referred to as a “roadmap that includes important points, which are objective measures that begin with canceling privileges for political leaders and senior government officials, reducing protections, and seeking to recover money from the corrupt.” He also mentioned that the plan included “important points.”
“The roadmap will provide more funds that can help accelerate the pace of approving the salary scale law for Iraqi state institutions,” he emphasized.
It is important to note that the salary scale was first proposed many months ago, and government committees were set up to follow specific paths with it. However, approval depends on a lot of legal factors.
