Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, Minister of Transport, made the announcement on Wednesday that the process of floating the submerged tunnel in Basra Governorate has begun.
In a press conference, Al-Saadawi noted that “this project is one of the infrastructure projects for the Grand Faw Port, which will be linked to the development road passing through the Zubair Canal” and that “the submersion process of the concrete pieces that will form the 1200-meter-long submerged tunnel has been completed.”
He went on to say: Because it reduces the distance between the Grand Faw Port and the city of Basra to only 62 kilometers, the project saves time, effort, and money.”
