About one billion dollars in sales from the Central Bank of Iraq within a week

The Central Bank of Iraq sold over $985 million in hard currency to the US dollar in the past week.

As per the correspondent, the Central Bank has sold $985,596,005 during the past week over the span of five days when the auction was open. The daily rate recorded was $184,462,106 which is higher than the previous week’s record of $801,133,899.

The highest sales were on Tuesday with $199,829,639, while the lowest were on Sunday with $193,925,190.

During the past week, our correspondent reported that the amount of foreign remittance sales totaled $776,984,105, indicating a significant increase of 64% compared to cash sales, which amounted to $280,613,900.

Our correspondent has reported that the sales were made in cash and via foreign transfers to finance foreign trade. The price of selling documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards was 1,305 dinars per dollar, while the selling price for transfers abroad and cash was 1,310 dinars per dollar.
