The leader of the popular movement’s organizing committee, the Belt and Road Initiative, charged on Saturday that the US was placing restrictions on Iraq and causing economic turmoil there.

Al-Karaawi stated, “Noting that there are many politicians inside Iraq who are subject to its dictates, America is working with great plans against Iraq.”

He said, “America has made the Iraqi economy unstable and is exploiting the circumstances to impose restrictions on Iraq.”

He went on to say, “America dominates broad economic sectors, especially in the field of oil, gas and the dollar, and interferes in the issue of electricity and armament.”
