In early June of last year, the Central Bank of Iraq announced that Council of Ministers Resolution No. (23044) for the year 2023 had been put into effect. The resolution aimed to promote the use of electronic payment devices (POS) in both government institutions and the private sector. This would encourage the adoption of electronic payment and collection methods, while also reducing the reliance on paper money for transactions and commerce.
