Al-Sudani: We issued instructions to facilitate the implementation of the law canceling financial privileges for officials

On Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani declared the formation of committees and work teams to monitor and address slow-moving government projects. He also stated that 71 reports of corruption in various sectors were reviewed by the complaints audit team, with an administrative investigation carried out in 24 of those cases.

During a press conference, Al-Sudani announced the establishment of a committee to review past contracts with significant circulation and the completion of a comprehensive evaluation of general managers and agents.

To restructure the government, the Prime Minister announced the formation of a special committee.

The Prime Minister confirmed that he had given instructions to remove financial privileges for officials and emphasized the importance of automating taxes and customs.

“He also directed the issuance of controls to reform the tax system, focusing on electronic payment methods. He emphasized the need to achieve a unified account showing funds’ movement in financial institutions. Additionally, he called for support of the private sector through government institutions. He stressed the importance of accelerating the completion of the final financial accounts for previous years.”
