Ola Odeh Al-Nashi, a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, urged Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani’s administration to hasten the submitting of the federal general budget for the current year 2024 today, Wednesday.
“Many government projects assigned to the governorates require accelerating their financial coverage in order to raise the ceiling for work and complete them within the specified timetable,” stated Al-Nashi in an interview.
“The government must expeditiously resolve the 2024 budget file and forward it to the House of Representatives for a vote,” she continued.
In order to accelerate the start of this year’s projects, Al-Nashi urged the Sudanese government to “expedite sending the 2024 budget schedules for a vote by Parliament.”
The financial budget law for the three years 2023, 2024, and 2025 was adopted by the House of Representatives on June 12, 2023. The budget authorized increased spending and investments as a direct result of the rise in oil income, which account for 90% of the nation’s total revenue.
