Battal reveals negotiations with China to establish iron and sulfur factories in Basra

Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal, has announced negotiations with Chinese companies to build factories for the iron, steel, and sulfur industries in Basra.

Battal stated in a televised interview that the loss of profitable companies was caused by the failure of other companies. The push to restructure and work in factories has driven some to mobilize opinion on unreal issues to produce demonstrations.

According to his statement, the speaker is currently in talks with a Chinese company to establish an iron plant in Basra. Furthermore, they are also exploring investment opportunities in sulfur. He also mentioned that by the end of this year, production and work at the iron and steel factory in Basra will resume.

The speaker highlighted that the ongoing government projects might be completed by the succeeding government, and emphasized the need for integration between public and private sectors to achieve production. He further stressed that the majority of employees lack experience with modern technology required for working in factories.
