The IDC has completed drilling the EBSH-54 well in East Baghdad.
As part of a contract with EBS Petroleum, the well was drilled to a depth of 3,636 meters. The drilling of the oil well was carried out in collaboration with China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL), which is a division of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). A total of 27 oil wells were planned to be drilled at the field.
The company completed its ninth well using the modern IDC 36 drilling rig with 1,500 horsepower. Horizontal drilling at an 89-degree angle was utilized during the process.
The rig will be relocated within the same field to drill the EBSH1-5-3H oil well.
EBS Petroleum, a Chinese operator registered in Iraq, conducts petroleum operations for China ZhenHua Oil.
