The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Monday that it is monitoring violations related to service projects costing 51 billion dinars in Muthanna.
According to a statement released by the authority, the investigation department discovered that the work team of the investigation office in Muthanna Governorate, which was transferred to the public and local administration in the governorate, took possession of the priorities of four service projects in the government contracts department. These projects had been assigned to my company for local contracting, at a total cost of (51,202,412,000) dinars.
During an investigation, it was found that the analysis and referral committees, along with the central committee responsible for reviewing and approving the tender for the paving and development project of the streets in the city of Rumaitha, did not exercise the necessary care. As a result, the project was awarded to two companies without verifying that they owned an asphalt plant and equipment for implementing the asphalt layers. Additionally, the two companies provided misleading information. The cost of the project was 35,948,900,000 dinars.
According to a statement, several street rehabilitation projects were awarded in the First Al-Nasr neighborhood of Samawah. These include the paving and rehabilitation of the unserved neighborhoods’ streets, which cost 7,093,037,000 dinars, and the rehabilitation of Al-Masbah Street connecting the Shuhada Bridge and the Stadium Bridge costing 5,256,638,000 dinars. Additionally, the streets of the Umm Al-Khail area in Rumaitha were paved and rehabilitated at a cost of 2,903,837,000 dinars. However, the two implementing companies failed to meet some necessary standards and conditions, which is in violation of the instructions for implementing government contracts. This was stated in the instructions and standard documents.
