Iraq achieves more than $8 billion in financial revenues from selling oil for the month of January

The Ministry of Oil revealed on Friday the entire amount of money made from the sale of crude oil in January of last year, which topped $8 billion.

“Preliminary statistics issued by the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company “SOMO” indicate that the total amount of crude oil exported reached (103) million (508) thousand and (438) barrels, with revenues amounting to (8) billion and (25) million and (616) thousand dollars,” the ministry said in a statement today.

According to the data, the total quantity of crude oil shipped in January from the oil fields in central and southern Iraq was (102) million and twenty-five thousand barrels, but the amount exported to Jordan was (464, 000, and thirty-six thousand barrels). A statement from the Ministry of Oil stated that one million (19) thousand and (132) barrels were exported from Qayyarah.

According to the government, three million (338) thousand (982) barrels were shipped on average per day.

The government went on to remark in their statement: One barrel’s average price came to $77,536.
