Iraq-Azerbaijan trade exchange surpassed $29 million in 2022

The Iraqi Minister of Communications, Hiyam Al-Yasiri, confirmed on Wednesday that the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Azerbaijan exceeded $29 million.

During the Iraqi-Azerbaijani Joint Committee meetings, Al-Yasiri made remarks, as per a statement from the state news agency (INA).

The Iraqi Minister of Communications led the Iraqi delegation, while the Minister of Transport, Communications, and High Technologies of Azerbaijan, Rashad Nabiyev, led the Azerbaijani side.

Since 2010, the two countries have enjoyed strong economic, scientific, and cultural relations. These relations have helped to increase the volume of trade exchange to over $29 million in 2022.

The Minister of Communications in Iraq mentioned that the growth in trade and collaboration is in line with the government’s efforts to strengthen the role of the private sector, boost investments, and demonstrate openness to countries across the globe.

The official from Iraq highlighted the involvement of Azerbaijani companies in obtaining promising investment opportunities to develop existing projects. They also expressed a desire to collaborate on new projects in various fields.
