The French business TotalEnergies and the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity inked two contracts to produce 1000 megawatts of solar energy in Basra.
As per the agreement, TotalEnergies would construct a solar power plant in four phases over a two-year period at the Artawi location in Basra province. Each phase of the national system will contain 250 megawatts of installed power.
TotalEnergies will spearhead the construction of a 180-kilometer Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) in order to connect the Solar PP to the grid. Additionally, TotalEnergies will build and operate the voltage-controlled Imam al-Sadiq substation.
