On Thursday, the Ministry of Finance of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) made the announcement that it had obtained the funding necessary to pay the salaries of civil servants for August and September.
According to an official Ministry statement, a delegation from the KRG Ministry of Finance recently visited Baghdad to discuss the pressing issue of salary payments with the Iraqi federal government.
The different sides arrived at various understandings and the KRG Service of Money has presented the finance for the long periods of August and September as mentioned by the Iraqi Service of Money.
The Iraqi federal government has decided to release the withheld cuts from February to August in order to address the 243 billion Iraqi dinar salary deficit in August. It also stated that once additional funding from Baghdad is received, salary distributions are anticipated to begin early next week.
The KRG Ministry of Finance has begun auditing the payroll and is now awaiting the beginning of the distribution of the region’s employees’ September salaries.
“The majority of the technical issues surrounding duplicate biometric codes and repeated names have been resolved by the two sides. “With a deadline of December 31, 2024, granted to employees who do not possess biometric cards to register their data,” the statement added, “the names of all similar employees have been verified and resolved.”
