Law: The government is required to invest in the path of development by pressuring Türkiye

In an effort to pressure Turkey into releasing water quotas for Iraq, the State of Law coalition called on the government to invest in the development road and dry canal project today, Monday. They also emphasized the necessity of forcing Ankara to take the initiative to resolve these issues in light of future joint cooperation with it.

In an interview with the, coalition member Ibrahim Al-Sakini stated that “Ankara’s withdrawal of its combat forces from the lands of northern Iraq is the first step” and that “giving Turkish companies the opportunity to invest in many projects should not be free.”

“The country’s arrival at the stage of economic service with Turkey gives strength to Baghdad in negotiating a solution to the outstanding issues,” he went on, emphasizing that “the partnership in implementing future projects must be the means by which Ankara’s lurking must be ended.”

“The government is required to invest in the development road and dry canal project in order to press Turkey to release Iraq’s water quotas,” Al-Sakini stated as he concluded his speech. “The United Nations Charter gives Iraq the right to have Turkey withdraw its forces present in northern Iraq and release its water quotas.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains silent, and Ankara persists in its hostile stance against Baghdad on a number of crucial topics that primarily impact residents. This is in response to Turkey’s blatant breaches of Iraqi law.
