More than a billion dollars in sales from the Central Bank of Iraq within a week

Over one billion US dollars’ worth of hard cash was sold by the Central Bank of Iraq to the US dollar in the last week alone.

The correspondent reported that the Central Bank sold one billion and 71 million, 42 thousand, and 258 dollars during the previous week and the five days the auction was held, at a daily rate of 214 million, 8 million, and 457 dollars. This amount was less than what the bank recorded the previous week, which totaled one billion and 90 million, 529 thousand, and 470 dollars.

With sales of 220 million, 561 thousand, and 970 dollars on Wednesday, the largest dollar sales were recorded; on Monday, sales were at their lowest, totaling 206 million, 303 thousand, and 771 dollars.

According to our reporter, international remittance sales during the previous week were 989 million 172 thousand and 285 dollars, representing a 92% rise above cash sales of 81 million 870 thousand dollars.

The selling price of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards reached 1,305 dinars per dollar, while the selling price of transfers abroad and the cash selling price reached 1,310 dinars per dollar. Our correspondent clarified that the sales were made in the form of cash and transfers abroad to finance foreign trade.
