The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced that the National Bank of Iraq (NBI) has formally joined the ‘My Account’ financial inclusion initiative. The number of participating banks now totals five, including Ashur, BBAC, Cihan, NBI, and RT.
This is part of an effort to provide beneficiaries with more choices for banking products and services, and to foster healthy competition in the financial services sector. The KRG will continue to provide clear visibility on banking fees and offerings.
The KRG anticipates that the partnership with NBI and other banks will expand as digital payments become available next year, providing benefits to citizens.
