Parliamentary Committee: The House of Representatives will extend its legislative term until voting on the budget schedules

The Parliamentary Economy, Industry and Exchange Panel uncovered that the amassing of the deficiency proportion, activities and income are reasons that prompted the postpone in sending the spending plan from the public authority to the Place of Agents.

The agent top of the advisory group, Yasser Al-Husseini, told “Al-Sabah”: The budget is in the government’s corridors, and the schedules for it are still being made in the Ministry of Finance. They haven’t been voted on by the Council of Ministers yet. Instead, they are being sent to the House of Representatives for review, study, and approval. The delay is long because service reality demands speed.

He went on to say that the House of Representatives approved a tripartite budget so that at the beginning of each year, there will be a budget that is ready to be implemented and we will shorten the time, as we are about to enter the fifth month of the current year. This means that there will be a problem if Parliament goes into legislative recess, and we demand that the government send the budget schedules to the House of Representatives as soon as possible.

Al-Husseini brought up that the shortfall proportion, undertakings, and income all cast a shadow over the postpone in sending the financial plan, bringing up that Parliament will broaden its regulative term until deciding on it is finished assuming its timetables are sent.

Atwan Al-Atwani, who is in charge of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, stated yesterday that it is hoped that the schedules for the budget for 2024 will arrive next week.
