Parliamentary Committee: The performance of the Ministry of Oil does not meet the ambitions of the energy sector

A Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee member, Nazem Al-Shibli, criticized the Ministry of Oil’s performance during the last stage. He indicated that the Ministry’s actions needed to meet the level of ambition.

During an interview with [publication], Al-Shibli expressed concerns about the performance of the Ministry of Oil and emphasized the need for direct intervention by the Prime Minister to reform its administrative and financial systems.

He noted that the Ministry of Oil’s loyalists and general managers have yet to provideted significantly. He also mentioned that the Oil and Gas Committee will take a stance on the Ministry’s poor performance.

Al-Shibli emphasized the need for intervention to address mistakes made by some undersecretaries and general directors of the Ministry and to evaluate their performance directly.

Kazem Al-Touki, a member of the Oil, Gas, and Natural Resources Committee, previously stated that three investigative committees have been formed to look into various issues, particularly the oil smuggling case during the tenure of former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
