Hussein Mounes, a member of the Finance Committee, confirmed today, Saturday, that more than 14 trillion dinars were manipulated in the 2024 budget tables.
In a statement to, Mounes stated that “the manipulation amounted to more than 14 trillion dinars” and that “the Prime Ministry sent a letter to the House of Representatives about the existence of manipulation in the budget tables before sending them to the Presidency of the Republic.”
In addition, he noted that “there are three budgets, one sent by the Parliament Presidency and the other sent to the Presidency of the Republic, which contained errors in the House of Representatives,” and that “The Finance Committee in Parliament has established a special committee to determine the truth and uncover the error that occurred.”
Mounes ended his statement with the following: A formal letter has been sent to the judiciary by the House of Representatives, and the House is awaiting its response.
Due to significant schedule manipulation, the 2024 budget exceeded all constitutional deadlines, which delayed its approval. This is noteworthy.
