On Sunday, the Parliamentary Security Committee confirmed that the strategy to combat currency counterfeiting had ten high-quality successes this year.
“The strategy to combat currency counterfeiting in Iraq is an important step to combat a phenomenon that has emerged in recent years and is backed by criminal networks trying to tamper with the economy and drain people’s savings,” MP Yasser Iskandar, a member of the Parliamentary Security Committee, stated.
“The strategy achieved important results by directing more than 10 strikes that contributed to the dismantling of important networks that were promoting and distributing counterfeit currencies in several Iraqi provinces,” he continued.
He called attention to that “promoting fake monetary standards has become troublesome considering the developing familiarity with society and its collaboration in revealing them right away, noticing the disappointment of advertising a great many dinars in the previous months.”
