Today, on Wednesday, an expanded meeting was held at the Ministry of Oil, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, Minister of Oil and Natural Resources in the regional government of Kurdistan, Kamal Muhammad, and his accompanying delegation. Also present were undersecretaries of the Ministries of Planning and Oil, a number of general directors in the two ministries, and the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, they discussed preparing this year’s 2024 general budget schedules. The discussion included both operational and investment aspects, taking into account the anticipated revenues based on oil prices for the year.
Tamim pointed out that the government is eager to promptly complete the 2024 budget schedules and submit them to the House of Representatives for approval.
