Qatar intends to invest in the fields of oil and energy in Iraq

Today, Qatar announced its companies’ interest in investing in Iraq’s oil and energy sectors on Monday.

The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced that Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul-Ghani held a meeting with the Qatari Ambassador to Iraq, Sultan Mubarak, and the head of the Qatari Sadara Company, Ahmed Al-Khalaf, along with their delegation.

The statement included that “During the meeting, there were discussions on the relationship between the two countries and the potential for developing them in a way that benefits both sides.”

The Qatari ambassador expressed their desire to increase investment opportunities and cooperation in the oil and energy sector with Iraq.

The meeting was attended by Ali Maaraj, Undersecretary for Distribution Affairs, and the Director Generals of the Oil Marketing Company and the Studies and Planning Department.
