State-run Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported Rumaila oil field management plans to boost daily production to 1.4 million barrels by year-end.
According to Emad Hasan Lafta, the operations director of the field, the current daily production capacity is 1.3 million barrels per day. It is expected to increase to 1.4 million barrels by the end of this year.
Rumaila is widely acknowledged as the world’s second-largest oil field in terms of production. The oil field spans a vast geographical area of 1,600 square kilometers, with a length of 80 kilometers and a width of 20 kilometers.
