Today, Saturday, Khalaf Abdul Samad Khalaf, the leader of the State of Law Coalition, made the revelation that representatives’ salaries have now reached the same level as ministers’ salaries.
“It is unfortunate that the House of Representatives voted to increase the salaries and allowances of its representatives to the same level as the salaries and allowances of ministers,” Abdul Samad said in a statement.
“At a time when the Council should have voted to reduce the salaries of ministers to be equal to the salaries of its deputies if it seeks equality, and to work to increase the salaries of employees and retirees, as well as to support the poor and deprived classes,” he added.
On Wednesday, August 7, during its session, the House of Representatives decided to increase the allowances and salaries of its members.
