An anonymous security source reported that the US embassy in Iraq closed multiple centers for education, training, counseling, and polling in Baghdad.
He stated that these centers and institutes use security and political goals to further their interests in Iraq and harm Iraqi society.
According to the source, the military bases were targeted by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq in the western and northern regions, which led to the decision to close them. This decision was made due to the fear that the resistance would reach these headquarters and expose them.
According to him, the United States is attempting to remove all its personnel and resources from the country, particularly after the recent surge in attacks on its military bases. This indicates that the American government is alarmed by the actions of the Iraqi Islamic resistance forces.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, the US forces pledged to continue their operations and emphasized that they would not allow themselves to be used as props for the genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. The Iraqi Islamic Resistance took credit for the attack on the US bases in Ain al-Assad and Harir in Iraqi Kurdistan.
