Aziz Khalaf Al-Tarmouz, the Anbar Governor’s Advisor for Energy Affairs, made the announcement on Friday that two army regiments would be assigned to provide the necessary security for the crews of the Ukrainian company investing in the Akkas gas field in the Al-Qaim district, west of Anbar.
Al-Tarmouz stated: An agreement to protect the Ukrainian company was reached during coordination meetings with Anbar security leaders.
He continued, “No security breach was recorded in the Akkas gas field, which is completely secured by the security forces.”
