Representative Saud Al-Saadi, leader of the Parliamentary Rights Bloc, made the announcement on Wednesday that the Popular Mobilization Forces’ debt and payments for their dead and wounded will be cancelled in accordance with a review schedule established by Iraqi banks and running from April 22 to May 5, 2024.
According to a statement obtained by, Al-Saadi’s office explained, “The issue began on December 15, 2022, when Representative Saud Al-Saadi addressed the Prime Minister’s Office for the purpose of writing off the debts and installments of the martyrs and wounded of the Popular Mobilization Forces, indicating that the request that was submitted was for “representative purposes in accordance with the provisions of Article (49/First) of the Constitution, and based on In accord 13) of 2018, and in light of the many solicitations got from the brave individuals from the Famous Assembly Powers.”
“Writing off the remaining debts and housing installments owed by the families of the martyrs and wounded of the Popular Mobilization Forces for the purchase of investment residential apartments” were included in the request. Article (4) of the Law Commemorating the Sacrifices of the Martyrs of the War Against ISIS Terrorist Gangs No. 81) of 2017.”
He proceeded, “On December 18, 2022, the Workplace of the State leader tended to the Well known Activation Powers in an authority letter with” Discounting obligations and portions for the saints and injured of the Famous Preparation Powers.”
He cited “a document issued by Salah Hassan Abdullah, Director of the Office of the Prime Minister, in which the Prime Minister directed (the notification of the numbers and the total amount of the installments) that what was stated in the letter from the office of Representative Saud Saadoun Al-Saadi, numbered (166) on 12/15/2022, To take what is necessary in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister,” as the source of the reference.
