On Saturday evening, the ballot boxes for the provincial council elections were closed electronically throughout Iraq by Election Commission officials.
The electronic sorting and counting procedures are set to commence after the polling stations close. The electronic results will be transmitted to the National Center. At the same time, manual counting and computation will be conducted for all polling stations, following the electoral law.
The Commission emphasized that there would be no extension of the voting time.
