A Kurdish leader reveals the number of Kurdistan employees included in the resettlement program.

Wafa Muhammad Karim, a leader in the Kurdistan Democratic Party, has revealed that more than 740,000 government employees in the Kurdistan Region now receive their salaries through electronic payment cards.

According to Karim, the Kurdistan Region has between 950,000 and one million employees, with total monthly salary payments exceeding one trillion Iraqi dinars.

He said the majority of employees have already been integrated into the electronic payment system and receive their salaries through bank-issued payment cards. These employees can access their funds through ATMs and payment outlets located at banks and other locations across the region.

Karim noted that despite the progress, more than 200,000 employees still receive their salaries through manual payment methods. However, efforts are continuing to bring all remaining employees into the electronic payment system.

He explained that the transition is moving forward without interruption, with the goal of ensuring that every government employee in the Kurdistan Region receives salaries electronically, similar to workers in other Iraqi provinces.

The move is part of broader efforts to modernize salary payments, improve financial transparency, and make it easier for employees to access their wages through secure banking services.
