The US dollar continued to fall in Iraq’s currency markets on Thursday, extending the downward trend that has been seen since the start of the week after a recent rise in exchange rates.
In Baghdad’s Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges, the dollar was trading at 156,800 Iraqi dinars per 100 US dollars, down from 157,000 dinars recorded on Wednesday.
Currency exchange shops in Baghdad also reported lower rates. The selling price dropped to 157,250 dinars per 100 dollars, while the buying price stood at 156,250 dinars.
In Erbil, the dollar’s selling price reached 156,800 dinars per 100 dollars, while the buying price was 156,750 dinars.
The latest figures show the dollar continuing to lose ground in both Baghdad and Erbil markets, following several days of declines after its recent upward movement.
