The US dollar opened lower against the Iraqi dinar on Sunday, trading near 159,000 dinars per 100 dollars in local currency markets.
According to a market survey, the dollar was exchanged at 159,250 dinars per 100 dollars at Baghdad’s Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges, compared with 159,750 dinars during the previous trading session.
In Baghdad’s local exchange shops, the selling price reached 159,750 dinars per 100 dollars, while the buying price stood at 158,750 dinars.
In Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, exchange shops sold the dollar at 159,000 dinars per 100 dollars and bought it at 158,950 dinars.
The decline reflects a slight improvement in the value of the Iraqi dinar compared with the previous session, although the dollar remains trading at elevated levels in both Baghdad and Erbil markets.
