Representative Moin Al-Kadhimi, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, proposed today, Monday, that the government’s changes to the budget schedules would be presented to Parliament at the conclusion of the Eid Al-Fitr vacation.
According to Al-Kadhimi, “the House of Representatives is expected to receive the budget schedules for the current year 2024 at the end of March. This indicates that the reason for the delay in sending them is the disruption of the House of Representatives’ work until after the blessed Eid Al-Fitr.”
He continued, “The amendments made by the government regarding the budget schedules have ended and will be submitted to Parliament after the Eid al-Fitr holiday,” which means “the value of the budget was raised from 199 trillion to 228 trillion, which made the deficit large, but the budget will not be spent in full.”
